This is the total amount we need to purchase the ship (€725,000) and carry out the necessary maintenance and conversion work to turn it into a rescue vessel (€175,000). We are dependent on the support of our donors to get Humanity 2 out to sea.

People are dying every day in the Mediterranean – more and more are also fleeing from Tunisia, while hardly anyone there is rescuing them or bearing witness to the violations of the law. With Humanity 2, we can be on the ground right there. The crew on board the 24-meter sailing ship can respond flexibly, stabilize people, provide first aid, and document human rights violations.

One-time donations help us, for example, to purchase the Humanity 2 and also to convert and maintain it. However, in order to operate the ship in the long term and maintain a presence in the Mediterranean, we are dependent on regular support. Thanks to monthly donations, we are permanently ready for action.
In addition, your regular donation also has a political impact as a sign of solidarity with people fleeing their homes: because we also defend the rights of people seeking protection on land! Your donation to SOS Humanity is tax deductible. We will send you a donation receipt in the first quarter of the following year. If you need it earlier, please contact us. Donations of up to €300 are recognized by the tax office even without an official donation receipt. Your bank statement is sufficient as proof.
