Stay humane

We are not alone in this demand: our energetic crew is also at sea in winter to save lives. But their efforts would not be possible without a committed civil society to back them up. Some of our supporters have organised fundraising campaigns to support our life-saving work. You too can make a valuable contribution: donate now to one of the fundraising campaigns!

"There are causes of flight, there is suffering. That's why people take on such an ordeal as a deadly flight across the Mediterranean."

No matter how different the fields of activity of our crew members, shore-based staff, volunteers and supporters are, we can all agree on one thing: We are ALL TOGETHER FOR SEARCH AND RESCUE. That’s why well-known supporters of SOS Humanity, such as the band QUERBEAT and moderator Jeannine Michaelsen, want to know more about the work on board and have asked our captain Joachim and board member Lisa, among others, about their work on board.

No matter what time of year it is, we should always be able to agree on one thing: We will not let people drown. Unfortunately, the reality is different. In 2024 alone, over 1,200 people have been reported missing in the central Mediterranean – the number of unreported cases is much higher! Instead of doing something about this, the EU continues to focus on isolation. Despite all the headwinds, we are ALL TOGETHER FOR SEARCH AND RESCUE. Stay humane and support our life-saving mission!
