Photo Exhibition “Hello Italy”

From 27 February to 6 April 2025 the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation will present the photo exhibition “Hello Italy” by photographer Arez Ghaderi. The exhibition documents the reality of people fleeing — from the dangerous journey across the central Mediterranean to their arrival in Europe.
A special part of the exhibition features photographs from a mission of the Humanity 1 in December 2022. At that time, Arez Ghaderi accompanied the mission of our rescue ship, capturing the moving moments of those rescued on their journey to Europe.
Vernissage & Panel Discussion on 27 February 2025, at 7pm
To kick off the exhibition, the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation invites you to the Vernissage on 27 February at 7 pm. As part of the opening event, a panel discussion on the topic “Search and Rescue in the Context of Current Migration Policies” will take place.
- On the Panel:
- Shala Qaderi (IFZ)
- Mirka Schäfer (SOS Humanity)
- Tareq Alaows (Pro Asyl, Seebrücke)
Our political spokesperson, Mirka Schäfer, will share SOS Humanity’s perspective and speak about the challenges of search and rescue as well as the impact of European migration policy.
This discussion is particularly important considering the political developments following the German federal elections. The political decisions made in the coming years will be crucial in shaping the approach to flight and migration — and, consequently, the future of search and rescue in the central Mediterranean.
We warmly invite everyone interested to visit the exhibition and take part in the discussion.
